As part of the sale of a BU, a project to study a new EPM for Corporate Controlling (reporting and budget preparation) led to the decision to reactivate an old EPM used by the Group (SAP BPC).
Our mission
Diagnosis and needs analysis phase, based on interviews with Corporate & BU Controlling teams
Analysis of different scenarios and comparative study of several EPMs
Choice of an option to reactivate the old BPC EPM while adapting it to the challenges of the new scope and new reporting requirements:
- Framing functional requirements
- Framing of historical recovery (indicators, historical depth)
- Adapting reference systems to new challenges
- Implementing history transfer
- Specification and layout of reports to be delivered
- Support for project management on developments
- Strategy and implementation of acceptance procedures, with weekly monitoring of acceptance schedule for MOE, MOA, customer
- Modeling and integration of new analytical axes
- Change management (simplified), with Power Users training, support, exercises, hotline
Results
Solution up and running in 6 months
Time and cost constraints meant that existing processes had to be re-used as much as possible, to deliver over 120 financial reports in Excel format.
Nearly 90 users, in all countries, were realigned on the use of a tool they were used to using 2 years earlier, which facilitated the change management process.
